the fab five | long beach family photographer

This post has been a LONG time coming!! This family is actually my aunt, uncle and their three beautiful girls – luckily they are my family so they have been forced to be patient with my during a very busy couple of months.  My cousins contacted me to do some updated family portraits for their mom for mother’s day on our next trip to So Cal and I was so excited to oblige!  Excited is an understatement really.  I’ve been longing to have these beautiful faces in front of my camera for as long as I can remember.  🙂

Anyway, we had a fun time shooting at Montage Beach in Laguna in late June.  It was actually the night of the super moon so the tide was really high.  It threw me off a bit, seeing as how I’m a landlocked photographer with not much experience shooting at the beach, but we made the most of it and I just love the results.  Side note – the tide was so high, that while my husband hung out with our two kids during the session, our daughter was taken out by a random rogue wave!  Good thing he had a firm grip on her hand!  Bystanders were amazed that she didn’t freak out… she’s a tough cookie!  It was also really crowded, but that didn’t stop us from having a great time!  Here are a few (ok a LOT!) of my favorites from our afternoon together…
