We were in San Diego last week with the kids for Spring Break (well, REALLY, it was for a conference that my husband was going to – me and the kids just tagged along). This gave us long days to kill on our own without him. One of those days we decided to trek into the middle of the desert to explore a place called Salvation Mountain. This is a place I’ve been wanting to go to for YEARS and I’m so glad I finally visited it. It did not disappoint. I loved reading and learning about the history of the art project, and about the man who created it. It’s really special. We climbed to the top of the mountain, and went through all the little caves. It was HOT and crowded but the kids said they LOVED it. Well worth the 4+ hour round trip drive from our hotel. Plus, when we got back we had the perfect excuse to hop in the pool and rinse off. 😉 Here are some fun pics from our fun day.
